Cart Owner Guide

A cart owner is a merchant on Kadaikodi — a brand, store, supplier, or operator that lists offerings and fulfills orders. This guide helps you onboard, build your catalog, sell, and fulfill.

Getting Started

Merchant registration

  1. Register as a merchant on Kadaikodi
  2. Set your category and offering type — products only, services only, or both
  3. Add your location and business hours
  4. Complete verification toward active/verified status
  5. Configure your storefront branding

Merchant lifecycle

Your merchant moves through an explicit, auditable state machine:

  • draft → active → verified → paused → suspended → archived

Building Your Catalog

Offerings

List offerings — unified products and services under one model:

  • Products carry stock; services carry a duration and service type
  • Set price (and optional compare-at / original price for promotions)
  • Add media galleries, tags, and metadata
  • Declare supported fulfillment types (pickup, delivery, cart dispatch, on-location, home service)
  • Toggle availability

Managing Orders

Order management

  • Receive orders and review details
  • Advance each order through its lifecycle (placed → confirmed → preparing → ready → out for delivery → delivered → completed)
  • Payment status is tracked independently (pending → processing → paid → failed → refunded)
  • Each order item snapshots name, unit price, quantity, and customizations, so the order stays accurate as your catalog changes

Fulfillment & Staff

Workers

  • Maintain a roster of workers with roles and status
  • Create worker tasks for delivery, pickup, service, inventory, and cleanup
  • Track task lifecycle (assigned → in progress → blocked → completed → cancelled) with priority, due time, and location

Business Tools

Analytics

  • Per-merchant analytics snapshot — revenue, orders, average order value, rating, and pending orders
  • Embedded drill-down dashboards in the back office (in progress)

Configuration

  • Per-merchant configuration scope for fees, tax behavior, and feature toggles — no code changes required

Reviews

  • Receive customer reviews tied to your orders
  • Respond to reviews; your live rating and total-ratings count roll up automatically

Financing (optional)

Raise growth capital

  • Publish a transparent investment opportunity with target amount, minimum investment, expected returns, lock-in period, risk level, and terms
  • Backers invest; funding progress (raisedAmount vs targetAmount) is first-class
  • Availability is gated by configuration and varies by region and edition
