Investor Guide

Kadaikodi includes a merchant financing layer: back the merchants whose products and services you believe in, under transparent, governed, audited terms. This guide explains how investing works.

Compliance

Merchant-financing features are designed to run under jurisdiction-appropriate compliance controls and are gated by configuration; availability varies by region and edition. Terms (returns, lock-in, risk) are published per opportunity by the merchant — Kadaikodi does not promise any fixed return.

How investing works

The financing layer is built on three first-class entities:

  • Investment Opportunity — a transparent offer published by a merchant
  • Investment — your position in an opportunity
  • Investment Transaction — an auditable ledger entry (buy, sell, dividend, adjustment)

Getting Started

Investor setup

  1. Create your investor account
  2. Complete any required verification
  3. Set your investment preferences
  4. Browse available opportunities

Investment Process

Discover opportunities

Browse opportunities, each published with transparent terms set by the merchant:

  • Target amount and minimum investment
  • Expected returns and lock-in period
  • Risk level and terms
  • Business metrics backing the offer
  • Funding progressraisedAmount vs targetAmount

Review the terms

  • Read the opportunity's stated returns, lock-in, and risk level
  • Review the business metrics provided
  • Understand that returns are the merchant's stated terms, not a Kadaikodi guarantee

Invest

Portfolio Management

Track your positions

  • Portfolio — all your investments and their current value
  • Realized returns — income and gains to date
  • Maturity — tracked against each opportunity's lock-in period
  • Transaction ledger — every buy, sell, dividend, and adjustment, so positions are always reconcilable

Opportunity lifecycle

Opportunities move through:

  • draft → active → funded → closed

Returns & Payouts

  • Returns follow each opportunity's published terms (e.g., profit sharing, fixed returns) — set by the merchant, not by Kadaikodi
  • Realized returns and current value are tracked on your position
  • A secondary market to trade positions before maturity is planned for a future release

Governance & Protection

  • Configuration-gated — financing features are toggled by platform/merchant configuration
  • Region- and edition-aware — availability depends on jurisdiction and plan
  • RBAC + audit — every financing action is governed by role and recorded with actor, target, and result
  • Auditable ledger — the transaction ledger keeps every position reconcilable
